8 miniatures

8 miniatures , subtitled Alan's psychédélik Breakfas t, is a hybrid project, to date unfinished,
which in its last form (2013), was a performance for two contemporary dancers and multipoint diffusion, which I directed. It was a translucent journey among the wanderings of a character in identity crisis. In the form of a large episodic fresco - blossoming, social birth, doubt, mystical wanderings, experience of death, return to life, return to humanity - we sought to experience, to apprehend by the body the limit between doubt, certainty and madness.

As for the music, it is an attempt at dialogue between two radically different aesthetics.

Half of the thumbnails were composed for a HipHop band, O'Styl . It was the introduction and transitions between tracks on a concept album. My writing is then very "Cut up", dynamic, vertical, figurative with very identified urban sounds, samples, the voices of musicians, drums, etc.

The other half of the miniatures, which are inserted, is on the contrary of a more horizontal writing, stretched, abstract in a time which spreads out, with more murky sounds, whose source is not identifiable; voices become murmurs, breaths, breaths or complaints.

The result is a strange piece, neither homogeneous nor completely heterogeneous, where the expected dialogue takes place, a posteriori, only in one direction.
